Call for expressions of interest: Global Gateway Civil Society and Local Authorities Dialogue Platform

The European Commission is calling for expressions of interest for the selection of members of the "Global Gateway Civil Society (CSOs) and Local Authorities (LA) Dialogue Platform", sectors that play a key role in ensuring an inclusive and value-based approach to the implementation of this strategy. The Platform will be set up as a working group of the European Union (EU) Policy Forum on Development.

Delivered in a Team Europe approach, the Global Gateway is the EU’s contribution to narrowing the global investment gap, supporting global economic recovery, and accompanying the twin green and digital transitions beyond European borders.

The Strategy intends to boost smart, clean, and secure links in the digital, climate, energy, and transport sectors and to strengthen education, research, and health worldwide systems. An enabling environment will be key to mobilizing increased infrastructure investment and meeting high technical, competition, environmental, social, and governance standards. The BELLA II project, under the coordination of RedCLARA, is one of its major commitments.

The Dialogue Platform will facilitate the exchange of horizontal policy issues of interest to CSOs and LAs in the context of the Global Gateway Strategy (e.g. addressing inequalities, transparency, and sustainability); feedback from civil society and LAs on the implementation of the Strategy; exchange on how these sectors can partner around Global Gateway flagship projects by exploring opportunities at country level; and provide a space for regular updates from all participants.

The Dialogue Platform is open to global or regional associations, platforms, and networks of CSOs and Las, including youth organizations, women's organizations, trade unions, employers' organizations, cooperatives, business and consumer organizations, rural organizations, faith-based organizations, LGBTIQ, indigenous peoples, organizations of persons with disabilities, foundations; organizations specialized in the Global Gateway's priority investment areas: digital, climate and energy, transport, health, education and research; and organizations focused on good governance, transparency and accountability, human rights and democracy.

The Dialogue Platform will be composed of a maximum of 60 members, selected through a selection process, who will commit to working on the activities for two years.

Interested organizations are invited to submit their expression of interest no later than 11 October 2023 at 14.00 (CET) (extended deadline). It should be sent by e-mail to Unit G2, Directorate-General for International Partnerships: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
